What exactly are hybrid clubs anyway?  A hybrid club is sort of like a cross between a fairway wood and an iron.  They are generally used to replace your harder to hit long irons (usually the 2, 3, 4, and sometimes 5).  They have a wider sole, and a lower Center of Gravity compared to an iron to help get the ball up into the air.  Either hybrids or higher lofted fairway woods are darn near a necessity in set make-up these days (because the OEM's keep sneaking the lofts of their irons down, making the 2, 3, and 4 irons darn near impossible to hit well).  Having used hybrids myself, there is no doubt about it, they are definitely easier to hit from the turf, and especially out of the rough compared to a long iron.  The addition of the right hybrid(s) into your bag will add consistency to your game for those shots where a 2, 3, or 4 iron would normally be used - there's a good chance they could save a stroke or two during the course of a round also.  Hybrid clubs are somewhat the equivalent of using a higher lofted fairway wood (like a 7 or 9 wood) - just as easy to hit, but even better out of the rough compared to a higher lofted fairway wood.  If you're really on your game, can consistently hit your 3 iron well from the turf, and you never get into the rough - you should be on tour and you can skip over this page. :-)

Miura Golf:

MG Series Hybrid (HB3 and HB4)

Golf clubs serve people, not the other way around.

The Miura MG is the Peoples’ Hybrid.

We listened carefully to golfers to determine their true intent in using hybrids.  What they told us harkens back to the true meaning of the word: a useful blend of the characteristics of two or more good things.  What we discovered first and foremost is that golfers use hybrids to aim at pinpoint targets, just as they do with irons.  So it made sense to adopt a blade-like face design, to extend to the hybrids the same sense of security golfers feel with Miura irons.  Now, the more advanced player can work a hybrid into his bag confidently and hit the shot he intends, instead of wondering whether the flight will flare off line.

A number of design features combine to achieve this liberating effect. The MG moves smoothly and strongly through the turf, thanks to experiments we did with the sole.  We developed a method called Circle Cut, in which we cut a line through the sole in a strategic spot.  This creates a second tier; a step, if you will.  And of course, this moves the center of gravity -- but not to its lowest point, as we thought it might. Instead, the Circle Cut Sole puts the CG in the best place -- low, to be sure, but not bottomed out.  Now, the center of gravity contributes to a forceful flight that stays on line, even as it gains enough height to hold the green on landing.  Other features are more subtle, but no less important.  The I.P. black finish makes the MG look more compact, which focuses player concentration at address, and the sole relief in the toe and heel is calculated to optimize that turf travel.

With the MG Hybrid, it’s not all about the volume of the head.  Rather, we suggest golfers focus on the height of the face.  At address, the height of the face is almost the same as the height of the ball: 43mm.  Because of this, players can think of the MG as an iron at address, and hit the ball the same way as an iron.

Just be sure to hold your finish. You’re going to enjoy what you see.

Available 20°, and 23° in RH only.

331H Hybrid Iron

  • Higher MOI for Greater Off-Center Hit Performance from a slightly longer heel to toe profile combined with a increased side and back wall thickness
  • Split-Level Sole Design ensures enough sole width to keep the CG low and back from the face to increase launch angle, but with a more narrow split-sole surface that reduces the sole to ground contact to allow more solid contact from the rough and to allow players to “knock the ball down”
  • Designed to be Built to Lengths from Under Standard Length Iron to Fairway Wood to In Between through the use of the second weight bore, total weight addition capability 18grams
  • Same Hosel Offset Design as an Iron to blend in more smoothly with the typical low offset of any conventional iron design
  • Increased Hosel Length to allow for slightly easier lie bending adjustments
  • 0.335” Bore Diameter to Match with TWGT’s Superb 0.335” Tip Light and Tour Weight Hybrid Shafts – thousands of golfers have learned the secret to TWGT’s superior high launch hybrid performance are the unique TWGT designed GI-335 hybrid shafts, available in both 72g LightWeight and 95g Tour Weight versions

Available 18°, 21°, 24°, or 27° in RH and 21° or 24° LH.

730CL Hybrid Iron Set

An incredibly Popular Full Set Design Expressly for Golfers with an 80 mph Swing Speed or Lower.  Driver and Fairway wood faces are designed thinner, expressly and only for golfers with a swing speed of 80 mph or lower.  By changing the face thickness and maintaining the .830 COR at 80 mph, slower swinging golfers can now obtain the same performance previously available only to a golfer with a swing speed of 100 mph.  Approved for play by the USGA and another Tom Wishon first.

The semi-offset hosel on all woods delivers fade-slice reduction and moves the Center of Gravity (CG) farther back from the shaft to increase launch angle and control at impact.  Graduated Roll Technology (GRT) face design on all woods to ensure more consistent launch angle.  Soft bend profile matching shafts in A & L combination flex design to match with all <80 mph swing speeds and increase launch angle.

The Wishon 730CL hybrid iron set is available for RH golfers only.

Alpha Golf Hybrids:

V5 Hybrid

• 15-3-3-3 Titanium forged Active Beta face insert provides elastic yet high yield strength impacts, resulting in maximum momentum transfer
• Semi-low profile with elongated face produces a very high moment of inertia for stability on off center impacts, and reducing dynamic torque for improved control
• Uniquely modified weight-redistributed sole for higher launch and optimal spin condition for long and accurate shots
• Uniformly thin outer face for consistent flexibility across the face
• Optimal center of gravity positioning for remarkable performance in all lies

The Alpha V5 Hi-COR Hybrid is the first all titanium hybrid to be played on the Champions Tour.  It has the highest coefficient of restitution (COR) of any other hybrid, and even exceeds the COR of drivers.  Off the tee or in tight lies, the V5 titanium hybrid is the secret weapon in achieving distance and accuracy.

Available 16°, 19°, 22°, 25°, or 28° in RH and 16°, 19°, 22°, 25° or 28° LH.

RX Low Pro Hybrid

• Oversize utility wood builds confidence at address
• Low and deep COG helps get the ball airborne
• Minimized distance between hosel and COG for maximum forgiveness (MOI)
• Low profile makes setting up easy and accurate

The center of gravity (CG) height location is purposely placed very low through strategic weight distribution near the sole.  This lowers the club head's center of gravity below the ball's center of gravity on impact, which in turn promotes the higher launch angle and trajectory.  The low profile of the RX hybrid keeps the CG of the club well below that of the ball.

Available 19°, 22°, or 25° in RH

• Deeper face and equal COR across the face for overall larger sweet spot
• Uniquely modified weight-distributed sole for optimum spin condition and accuracy
• Soft 431 Stainless Steel construction for superb control

• High MOI design with pronounced heel-to-toe weighting for stability and feel
