Fairway woods are an important part of the golf game for many of us - fairway woods don't just end at the 5-wood.  Higher lofted fairway woods have become more popular in the past few years.  I carry a 7-wood in my bag for every round I play - it has made a permanent home in my golf bag, and at times (depending on the course I am playing at that day) I will even carry a 9-wood.  I find them much easier to hit than a 3 or 4 iron from the turf, and hit them well on a much more consistent basis than a regular long iron.  I sometimes alternate between the 9-wood and a hybrid - it all depends on the course I'm playing.  It's not uncommon to see a 7-wood or even a 9-wood show up in the bag of a PGA player on tour every now and then.

Alpha Golf

V5 FW Wood

• Revolutionary all titanium Hi-COR fairway wood
• Deep COG for maximum forgiveness and MOI
• Super thin yet strong face for “trampoline effect”
• Deep face features a large sweet spot for straighter shots

The Alpha V5 Hi-COR was the first all-titanium fairway wood to be played on the Champions Tour.  Today it is still the most popular titanium fairway wood in the bags of Tour players.  The number of professional and amateur golfers that choose a titanium fairway wood is still very small.  But more discerning golfers are realizing the benefits of titanium woods, and Alpha will continue to lead the way with it's high end clubs.  Fairway woods traditionally have steel heads.  All drivers used to be steel as well.  But when golf designers realized the superior characteristics of Titanium, they switched to create longer and more accurate clubs off the tee.  A similar trend is starting to happen with fairway woods.  The lighter titanium lets designers add in extraneous weight, and place it in strategic areas of the head.  Most of the extra mass pads the back and the sole of the club head to strategically place the center of gravity.

Available only RH in lofts of 15.0°, 18.0°, or 21.0°

C830.2 Plasma FW Wood

• Maraging steel face provides high yield strength with “bounce”
• Low and deep COG helps get the ball airborne
• Forged face that is plasma welded gives a solid feel and sound

Alpha has built a legacy of optimized design, superior titanium, and expert craftsmanship.  It is this same legacy that is passed directly onto the C830.2 fairways, the best overall fairway woods design for distance and accuracy.  The forged manufacturing process gives the C830.2 FW a softer feel.  But more importantly, it allows for careful crafting of the face that is not feasible with the cheaper investment casting process.  Casting is not conducive to creating the variable face thickness that is needed for high COR, since the face and shell are made together from a mold.  In the forging process however, the maraging steel face is constructed separately and then plasma welded onto the shell.  Careful weight placement in the head enables the COG to be low and deep.  Through a process called perimeter weighting, mass is concentrated in 2 places: 1) the sole of the club to lower the vertical COG.  2) the back of the club away from the axis of COG to increase MOI.

Available RH in lofts of 15°, 19.0°, 23°; LH in 15°, 19.0°

RX Hyper Steel FW Wood

The RX Hyper Steel fairway woods are here to improve game-improvement. Featuring a wider and more robust Stainless Steel body, the RX Hyper Steel offers extreme forgiveness.  The new classic club head shape promotes easy-launches with its precise COG positioning.  A smoother sole allows for stable yet faster shots that get your ball farther down the fairway and closer to the green.

Available RH only in lofts of 15° and 19.0°

RX Low Pro FW Wood

• Forged steel face insert provide high strength-to-weight ratios achieving greater ball velocity and solid feel at impact
• Proprietary mass distribution produces a very high moment of inertia for resistance to twisting on off center impacts
• Optimum center of gravity location for higher launch and optimum spin condition resulting in great forgiveness and controllable soft landing shots
• Carefully crafted wide body construction creates easier airborne launches, low backspin, and straighter and longer shots

The Alpha RX fairway golf clubs are one of the only commercially available fairway wood sets that have the full range of lofts.  Many recreational golfers replace their driver and one of their long irons with the easier to hit fairway woods.  5w, 7w, and 9w are becoming more and more popular, while the 2, 3, and 4 irons are disappearing from bags.

Available RH in lofts of 13°, 15°, 19°, 23°, 27°, 30°, 33°, 36°; LH in 15°, 19°, 23°, 27°

Response Offset FW Wood

• Stainless steel for maximum momentum transfer and optimal speed
• Semi-low profile for shot control and playability
• Medium level slice-correction offset
• Larger pear shaped sole for enhanced forgiveness and minimized dispersion

The 4mm offset of the Response fairway woods “resets” your ball path in the case of an outside to inside swing path, effectively launching it straighter towards the target.  Instead of launching with a clockwise spin and towards the right of the target (for RH-ers), the impact happens closer to the center of the clubface with less spin and a straighter trajectory.  Because the shot is launched straighter with less sidespin, less energy is also dissipated at impact.  This “extra” energy is transferred from the Response Offset fairway wood to the ball making your shot not only straighter but longer.

Available RH in lofts of 15°, 19°, 21°; LH in 15°, 18.0°
